Although Olivier Giroud restored Milan’s lead with a powerful header, a late mistake in defense gifted the visitors a dramatic equalizer just minutes before the final whistle. After the match, Modrić did not hide his frustration, telling Italian media that “with all due respect, these are the kinds of games you must win at home.” The Croatian midfielder, who has taken on a leadership role within the squad, emphasized that a lack of focus and intensity in the closing minutes is something Milan must fix if they want to remain contenders for the Serie A title.

He added that dropping points against lower-ranked teams — especially at San Siro — is unacceptable for a club with Milan’s ambitions. The draw leaves Milan trailing city rivals Inter by four points and raises concerns about the team’s defensive consistency in crucial moments. Head coach Stefano Pioli admitted his players need more balance and composure to close out matches, while local media criticized the lack of tactical adjustments from the bench.

For Pisa, however, the result was historic — earning a point at one of Italian football’s most iconic venues. Milan will now look to bounce back next week, aiming to regain confidence and keep their title hopes alive with a convincing performance away from home.
